CORYDON - Baelz, William Lee, 65, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

He was born in Corydon on April 13, 1948 the son of Stanley Earl and Helen Baxley Baelz. He was head meat manager for the Kroger Company for 30 years, 1968 to 1998, he was a study hall teacher at Corydon Central High School from 1998 to 2003, was a football coach and assistant softball coach also for CCHS, he was a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge, and Old Capitol United Methodist Church. He had formerly been on the Volunteer Fire Dept in Corydon and a member of the Corydon Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law-Keith Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kline Baelz of Corydon; three sons, Stanley Michael Baelz (Rachel) of Leavenworth, IN, William Howard Baelz (Brook) of Laconia, IN and Christopher Lee Baelz (Adrienne) of Corydon; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Luther (Josh) of Corydon; sister, Shirley Gibson of Corydon; and seven grandchildren, Cody, Jenna, Lilly, Avery, Cayden and Katie Mae Baelz and Brinlee Luther.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Andy Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Corydon on Sunday from 2-8 p.m.; Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Corydon Central High School Football.
