Charles (Chuck) Harbeson, 71, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Remington, Va.

He attended Corydon Central High School and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran.

Chuck’s wife worked for the European Union Commission. Unable to work because of a back injury, he traveled the world with his wife and her job. They were stationed in Nigeria, New Guinea and South Africa, just to name a few. Having a home in Brussels, Belgium, and Virginia, they divided their time between the two.

Chuck was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Clifton, and one brother, Gary Harbeson.

He is survived by his wife, Dominique Weicker Harbeson; one daughter, Jessica Foster (Brent); and one son, Joshua Harbeson (Tonya). Also by four grandchildren, Bailey and Braden Foster and Zoey and Tessa Harbeson; three sisters, Carolyn Oliver of Central, Sharon Rhoades of Corydon and Barbara Powers of Interlachen Fla.; and one brother, Jeffrey Harbeson of Virginia. Also left to cherish his memory are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Chuck’s request, cremation was chosen. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Va.

A memorial service will be held at the cemetery on Dec. 21. Joshua, his son, will be part of the honor guard and will present his mother with the flag.
