Barbara Kay Kitterman, 74, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Corydon, Indiana on August 13, 1949 to Henry Walker & June Margaret Overton. Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Corydon Central High School. She married Kevin Douglas Kitterman on December 22, 1982. Barbara spent 37 years working for Daramic until the company closed the Corydon plant in July of 2020. She was the loving mother to Roger (Julie) Weathers of Lanesville, Jason (Jenny) Weathers of Corydon, and Jennifer (Matt) Morrill of Columbus, Indiana. Barbara’s greatest joy was being a Mamaw to her grandchildren, Megan (Daniel) Lytle, Spencer Weathers, Chase Weathers, Braydon (Jada) Weathers, Jacob (Allison) Shaver, Winter Shaver, Sam Morrill and Tommy Morrill. She became a great grandmother in May of 2023 to Jessica Rae Lytle and a great grandson, Beau Wayne Weathers, due in May of 2024.
Barbara and Kevin enjoyed camping over the years and could be found on the banks of the Ohio River at Horseshoe Bend Campground. In recent years, Barbara enjoyed spending time at home taking care of her cats lovingly named Mae Mae and Winty after her granddaughters. She enjoyed lunches with her high school friends and former coworkers. She loved family gatherings and watching her grandchildren grow into young adults. Her love and devotion to her family was her first priority in life and in almost every picture of her is holding one of her many grandchildren. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness and loving heart.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Anita Kitterman and Linda Overton. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and brothers, Joe (Edy) Overton, Scott (Paula) Overton, Hank (Nancy) Overton, nieces and nephews, Reanna (Stephen) Blankenbaker, Sandy (Shayna) Hamilton, Elizabeth (Matt) Logsdon, great nieces and nephews, Kaylie Blankenbaker, Sawyer and Sloan Hamilton.

Nancy Sue Stepro Stowers, 74, of Corydon, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Dawson Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. She was born May 29, 1948, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Lee Boone Stepro and Elsie Ellen Feller Stepro Bailey. Nancy loved to crochet, bake and decorate cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William, Carlton and Paul Stepro; and her sisters, Virginia Sawyer and Joyce Florence.
Survivors include her brother, Larry Stepro (Carol) of Corydon; her sisters, Betty Crone (Jimmie) of Corydon and Delores Smith of New Albany, Indiana; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Rozella A. Shireman Blevins, 72, of Corydon, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She was born May 10, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late David and Sophia M. Bachman Pindell. She was retired from Holiday Liquors and First Capitol Liquors in Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frederick O. Shireman; her step brothers, Robert, Charles, Cort and Clifford Pindell; and her sisters, Marylea Alexander and Mildred Pindell.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Blevins of Corydon.

Steven L. Conrad, 73, of Depauw, Ind., died on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind.
Steven was born on Oct. 12, 1948, in New Albany, to the late Albert and Ethel Jewell Sparks Conrad.
He was a former laborer for Sanders Saw Mill and a warehouse manager for Schmidt Furniture Co. He enjoyed scraping and going to auctions.
He is survived by his son, Dewayne A. Conrad; his daughter, Pharabe D. Lowe; grandchildren, Teresa, Trent and Tina Goodson; brothers, Paul Conrad (Sharon) and Dennis Conrad (Sandy); sister, Elaine Hambley (Charles); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Ind. Interment will follow in the Zoar Cemetery near Crandall, Ind.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, after 10 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the service.

He was born December 5, 1949, in New Albany, IN the son of Frank W., Sr. and Tillie Mae Wolfe Ordner. He was a schoolteacher for over 30 years, was also basketball coach, vice principal and then principal in the South Harrison Community School Corporation. He was owner and operator of Ordner Insurance and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. He was a former Grand Knight and past Faithful Navigator and one of the founding members of the 4th Degree Council 1808 of the Knights of Columbus in Harrison County, IN. He enjoyed attending National Reining Horse Association Shows and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dee Hublar. He is survived by his wife, Theresia Hublar Ordner of Corydon, IN; sons, Frank W. Ordner, III (Deborah) of Pilot Point, TX, Robert J. Ordner (Christina) and John M. Ordner all of Corydon, IN; daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Ordner of Corydon and 5 grandchildren, Ellla Ordner, Hailey Ordner, Joshua Ordner, Cole Fisher and Brooke Fisher; brother-in-law, Robert Hublar of New Albany, IN. Jackson, John P:
John P. Jackson passed away on July 3, 2021 in Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 72. John spent most of his life as a social studies teacher and coach in Corydon and at Walden School in Louisville, where he found great pleasure in helping his students succeed in the classroom and thrive on the basketball court, baseball diamond, track, and cross country course. He was an avid reader and lifelong fan of the Louisville Cardinals and St. Louis Cardinals.
John is survived by his son, Kevin (Jennie), his daughter, Kristin Proctor (Brandon), a brother, Alan (Karen), a sister, Kathy Stroud (Phil) and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenny and his mother, Judy.

Linda Lou (Wiseman) Roberts, 71, of Lufkin, was born July 28, 1949 in Corydon, Indiana, to Albert Wiseman and Julia (Froman) Wiseman, and died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Lufkin.
Ms. Roberts had worked at Walmart for over twenty years in various positions. She loved traveling to Indiana once a year to visit her family.
Ms. Roberts is survived by her daughter and spouse, Julia Roberts Elliot and Brendon Seth Morris of Timpson; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Roberts, Jr. and Erika Lee of Lufkin; grandson, Bryan Keith Elliott and wife Charlotte Victoria; grandson, Anthony Michael Elliott and wife Candice; granddaughter, Laurel Melton and spouse Dayton Rodriguez; great-granddaughters, Addelyn Ray Elliott and Lydia Rose Rodriguez; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Patty and Larry Secat of Indiana, and Carol and Larry Stepro of Indiana; sister, Mary Ellen Lofton of Indiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Ann’ette Elliott.
Harbison, Chuck:
Charles (Chuck) Harbeson, 71, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Remington, Va.
He attended Corydon Central High School and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam veteran.
Chuck’s wife worked for the European Union Commission. Unable to work because of a back injury, he traveled the world with his wife and her job. They were stationed in Nigeria, New Guinea and South Africa, just to name a few. Having a home in Brussels, Belgium, and Virginia, they divided their time between the two.
Chuck was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Clifton, and one brother, Gary Harbeson.
He is survived by his wife, Dominique Weicker Harbeson; one daughter, Jessica Foster (Brent); and one son, Joshua Harbeson (Tonya). Also by four grandchildren, Bailey and Braden Foster and Zoey and Tessa Harbeson; three sisters, Carolyn Oliver of Central, Sharon Rhoades of Corydon and Barbara Powers of Interlachen Fla.; and one brother, Jeffrey Harbeson of Virginia. Also left to cherish his memory are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Chuck’s request, cremation was chosen. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Va.
A memorial service will be held at the cemetery on Dec. 21. Joshua, his son, will be part of the honor guard and will present his mother with the flag.

Sherry Elaine Reed, 70, passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at her home.
She was born September 11, 1949 in Corydon. She was an owner-operator bus driver for 41 years for South Harrison School Corp., was a member of God’s Church, Old Capitol Saddle Club, V.F.W. Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary. Sherry was one dedicated lady and loved her family and friends, who will all miss this special lady very much. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Hendrich and father P.J. McKim and grandson-in-law, Joe Woodlock. She is survived by her husband Jerry Reed; daughters, Michelle Calloway (Lonnie), Trina Kost (John); son, Marty Reed (Ange); granddaughters, Lisa Stepro (Jon), Jennifer Franks (Justin), Johna Woodlock, Dallas Duke (Joey), Jordan Kost and her canine buddy, Harley, all of whom loved her very much.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Pastor Tim Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Central, IN. Richard J. Hendricks, 71, of Milltown, Ind., died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at his residence.
He was born on March 20, 1949, in Harrison County, Ind., to the late Earl J. and Lucille Opal Shewmaker Hendricks.
He was a retired maintenance employee for Daramic and a United States Army veteran, having served during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita R. Carrico and Judy A. Martin; and a brother, Larry L. Hendricks.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Gayle Duke Hendricks of Milltown; his son, Jeremy J. Hendricks (Kaci) of Marengo, Ind.; daughters, Bobbie J. Wetzel of English, Ind., and Tina M. Ammons (Phillip) of Elizabethtown, Ky.; brothers, Jerry L. Hendricks (Angelia) of Salem, Ind., and Lester W. Hendricks (Regina) of Corydon, Ind.; sisters, Donna Kay Hendricks of New Middletown, Ind., Opal F. Wells of Florida and Sharon R. James E. (Butch) Simcoe, 71, of Corydon, Ind., died Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born April 10, 1949, in New Albany, Ind., to the late James and Elvina Mayfield Simcoe.
He was retired from Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon, was a member of the Catholic faith, was a member of The Next Step in Corydon, loved to woodwork and was a United Sates Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry (Doc) Simcoe.
Survivors include his brother, Dennis Simcoe of Corydon, and his sisters, Janet Pease (Jim) and Ann Clark, both of Corydon.
McGraw, James Lee:
James “Jim” Lee McGraw passed away on June 8, 2020 in Houston, Texas from a brief illness caused by sepsis. He was born on June 27, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to James Leslie and Alma McGraw. Jim attended Mission Bend United Methodist Church in Houston. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; mother, Alma; brothers, Mike, Roger (Julie), Tom (Donna); sister, Jeanie Preston (Ralph Preston); numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, James “Jack” McGraw.
Jim graduated from Corydon Central High School in 1967. From 1972-78 he was a medic in the Indiana Army National Guard. In 1975 he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University and in 1985 a MS is Engineering Management from the University of Louisville.
Jim served the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers, Inc. (IISRP) for 40 years, both as an IISRP chair and active committee member while employed by American Synthetic Rubber Corporation (ASRC). He subsequently served as Deputy and Managing Director and CEO for over 17 years. He was a leader in his field, recognized by his peers globally for enhancing member services and administrative effectiveness. Even in retirement, he served as an advisor to the IISRP Executive Committee. In 2016, Jim was honored as the Institute's General Award for his contributions to heightened awareness and added value to the industry and to society in improving quality of life through regulatory compliance.
Although Jim’s work was based in Houston, IISRP had offices in London, Tokyo and Beijing. One of his greatest joys was traveling the world with the love of his life, Pat, on work trips. Together they experienced all the world had to offer. Even well into retirement, they both always had plans for their next adventure, which is why their favorite song was “What a Wonderful World.”
Jim loved working on his family’s farm in Corydon, cooking recipes from the cookbooks he collected from around the world, wood working, collecting HO scale trains, and restoring his 1966 Super Sport Chevelle with Pat and friend, Bob Bartley. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the National Street Rod.
Due to COVID-19, there will be a private funeral for immediate family only at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Pallbearers include Mike McGraw, Roger McGraw, Tom McGraw, Paul Cecil, Bryan Hendrix, and Scott Hendrix. Honorary Pallbearers include Delbert Hayden, Mike Jones, Frank Ordner, Lester Rhoads, Bruce Windell, and Mark Wiseman.

Born March 7, 1949, in New Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary Lucille Crawford Roby.
She was the owner of Shaffer’s General Store in New Amsterdam, a retired clerk-treasurer of New Amsterdam, a retired manager at S&F/Denny’s Carpets in Corydon, a founder of the New Amsterdam Remembrance Days and a member of the Meade County Farmers Market, the Fairview Homemakers Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Wilson (Fuzzy) Shaffer.
Survivors include two sons, James B. Shaffer of Corydon and Charles A. (Andy) Shaffer of New Amsterdam; two daughters, Marci A. Bailey of Buchanan, Tenn., and JoAnna L. Barks of New Amsterdam; a sister, Brenda Skaggs of Elizabeth; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was a truck driver for Hobbes & Hall Trucking and Grace Transport.

CORYDON - Baelz, William Lee, 65, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
He was born in Corydon on April 13, 1948 the son of Stanley Earl and Helen Baxley Baelz. He was head meat manager for the Kroger Company for 30 years, 1968 to 1998, he was a study hall teacher at Corydon Central High School from 1998 to 2003, was a football coach and assistant softball coach also for CCHS, he was a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge, and Old Capitol United Methodist Church. He had formerly been on the Volunteer Fire Dept in Corydon and a member of the Corydon Optimist Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law-Keith Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kline Baelz of Corydon; three sons, Stanley Michael Baelz (Rachel) of Leavenworth, IN, William Howard Baelz (Brook) of Laconia, IN and Christopher Lee Baelz (Adrienne) of Corydon; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Luther (Josh) of Corydon; sister, Shirley Gibson of Corydon; and seven grandchildren, Cody, Jenna, Lilly, Avery, Cayden and Katie Mae Baelz and Brinlee Luther.

Born Nov. 19, 1948, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Ernie Eugene and Addie Bernedeen Cline McKim.
He was a former conductor/engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad, a member of VFW Old Capitol Post 2950 in Corydon and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, the former Aida Padilla; a son, Levi McKim of Las Vegas; a daughter, Cassie McKim-Collins of Harker Heights, Texas; three brothers, Michael E., Mitchell W. and Marlon D. McKim, all of Corydon; a sister, Marie Faith of Corydon; and five grandchildren.

The funeral was Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Pfrimmer's Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Sandy Cooper officiated. Beth Bostock was organist. Military rites were performed at the gravesite by VFW Post 2950 in Corydon. Pallbearers were Darrell and Arthur Conrad, Carl Bussabarger, Ronald Cline, Dustin Sizemore and Harold Delaney.

Dennis L. Deen, 61, Corydon, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Floyd Memorial Hospital & Health Services in New Albany.
Born Aug. 10, 1947, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Carl O. Deen Sr. and Mildred McMonigle Deen.
He was an Army veteran, a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Methodist faith and Hornickle American Legion Post 379 in Elizabeth.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl O. Deen Jr.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen M. Phipps; a daughter, Denise Linderman of Corydon; three brothers, Steven Deen of Indianapolis, Thomas Deen of Greenville and Michael Deen of New Albany; and two granddaughters.

Gary L. Greer, 54, Corydon, died Friday, Nov. 1, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
A native of Corydon, born Sept. 11, 1948, he was the son of Betty Minter Greer of Corydon and the late Arville Greer.
He was an Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 40 and Post 8 and VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693, all in New Albany, and the Honor Guard for former President Dwight D. Eisenhower's funeral.
Survivors besides his mother include a daughter, Terri Lynn Fletcher of Houston; two brothers, Larry Greer of Corydon and Paul Greer of New Middletown; four sisters, LaVern Bliss, Carolyn Smith, Faye Wilburn and Lois Fessel, all of Corydon; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral: Monday, Nov. 4, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon with burial in Bethany Cemetery in New Middletown.

Born March 7, 1949, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Earl and Norma Lee Brown Madden.
She was a former housekeeper at Harrison County Hospital and formerly employed at Restonic Mattress Co. in New Albany.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Madden.
Survivors include her husband, William T. Stepro; a daughter, Rita S. Cates of Corydon; five brothers, Melvin Madden of Michigan City, Danny Madden of Clarksville, Monty Madden of Louisville, Bobby Miller of Corydon and Carl Miller of Depauw; two sisters, Carla Pennington of Corydon and Lora Edwards of Elizabeth; and four grandchildren.

SANDRA RUTH McHatton 60, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
She was born in Harrison County, IN, February 3, 1949, the daughter of Forrest Ray and Ruth Eisenmenger McHatton.
She was a retired school teacher for the South Harrison Community School Corporation, a member of the New Middletown Lions Club and a member of Salem United Church of Christ in New Middletown, IN.
She is survived by several uncles and cousins including a cousin, Penny Fessell, who cared for her.

Born Feb. 2, 1948, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late George and Mary Margaret Wilburn McMonigle.
He was a retired truck driver with Keene Transport Co., was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Mauckport and Hobart Beach VFW Post 1693 in New Albany and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna M. Whittaker; four brothers, Paul, Carl, Raymond and George McMonigle II; and a sister, Ramona McMonigle.
Survivors include his companion, Virginia M. Dailey Simcox, and three brothers, Loren and Roger McMonigle, both of Mauckport, and Ronnie McMonigle of Corydon.

She was a former employee of Kitty's Plants and Produce in Louisville.

Born March 30, 1949, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Douglas L. and Mary Belle Livingston Stinson.
She was the pastor at Memphis United Methodist Church, a former pastor for Atkins Chapel and Hursttown United Methodist churches, was a member of Hursttown UMC, had conducted services at Hillview Apartments in Corydon and participated in the REC (Residents Encounter Christ) prison ministry.
Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Lincoln of Ramsey; a son, Graham D. Lincoln of Ramsey; a daughter, Shana M. Lincoln of New Albany; a brother, Terry L. Stinson of Cummings, Ga.; and a sister, Mary Sells of Jeffersonville.
